6.5        Business Unit

Why should I use this form?

This form is used to create and maintain Business Unit. The Business Unit (OU) is a physical representation of an Business Entity (OE). There may be one or more Busines Units in one Entity. Each Business Unit can be associated with a parent Business Unit whereas the root level Business Unit will not have any parent.

Who can access this form? 

This form shall be visible to all employees to whom the visibility is given in Setup HRMS Module Role Mapping/ Module Administration.

All the existing OUs are listed in the grid. Use the filter section to filter records in the grid based on some condition.

The field guidelines are as follows:

 Field Name

Description

Entity Name

Select Entity Name from this field. All the existing Entities with status ‘Active’ are shown here.

The OU that is being created will be created under this Entity.

Note: It is a mandatory field and hence value should be provided.

OU Code

Enter code for the OU.

OU Name

Enter Name of the OU.

Description

Enter Description for the OU.

Parent OU

Select the Parent OU under which the new OU will be created.

Effective Date

Select the date from when the OU will be in effect. The date can be Current, Past or Future date. If a Past/Current date is selected then the OU will take effect immediately. If a future date is selected then, the OU will take effect only from the date specified.

Status

Select the Status of the OU (Active/Inactive).

Click [Submit] to save the details.

Click [Reset] to refresh the form.
